Best Ab Workout

This is one of the most common questions out there… What is the the best ab workout?

Well everybody has their own opinion on this one and this is no different in my case, so I will share with you what
I consider to one sort of the best ab workout I have to offer. I won’t beat around the bush blabbering on… Here are the
best ab exercises in my opinion.

Bicycle Crunch

  • Lay on your back with both feet stretched out straight in front of you.
  • Raise both legs about 6 inches off the ground.
  • You then bring one knee up as far as you can and touch it to your opposite elbow.
  • Then you straighten that leg back out and bring the opposite knee to touch the opposite again.
  • Repeat until you can do no more!!!

Sit Ups

Good old fashioned sit ups!   They havn’t stayed around for so many years because they don’t work!

  • Lie on your back then bring your knees up about halfway.
  • Put your hands beside your head.
  • Use your stomach muscles to come up toward your knees, it should feel like you are using your shoulder blades to
lift your body and do not bend your neck.
  • Come back down again and repeat. Remember it is all about good form, so you can rush through 200 of them and not
feel a thing, or do 30 of them and be gasping for air.

Leg Raises
Before you do leg raises you should allocate a time to each position, I would recommend about 30 seconds for each
position to start with.

  • Lie on your back with feet straight out in front of you, then raise them six inches off the ground.
  • Hold for the desired amount of time.
  • Raise your legs about half a meter off the ground.
  • Hold for the desired amount of time.
  • Keep your legs that high and spread them wide open.
  • Hold for the desired amount of time.
  • Lower your legs to six inches off the ground and keep them wide open.
  • Hold for the desired amount of time.
  • Point your legs straight again six inches off the ground.
  • Hold for the desired amount of time.

Well done if you can complete this, it is an amazing abs workout if you can hold it.

Crunchless Abs – Is There Such A Thing?

The big mystery surrounding abs is amazing!  It seems that everywhere you turn there is someone promoting crunchless abs, abs in a bottle, a product, machine or magic pill that will give you abs over night!  Well, sorry to burst anyones bubble if they have just bought such a contraption, but there is no quick fix.  However endless sit ups are not the answer either (phew!).

The main fact that most people seem to forget is that everybody has abs, some however are just covered up by excess stomach fat.  So the most obvious decision by anybody in this predicament is to start losing any excess fat.  This will enable their abs to show through (even if they are weak) and start strengthening them to get the six pack they want.
So to lose weight, the best place to start is in the kitchen.  Cut out any food or drink that you know is bad, and that is half the problem solved!  Foods such as crisps, biscuits, cakes, pies… You know what I mean…
Replace them with things you know are good for you such as fruits, vegetables, sandwiches (brown bread), pasta, nuts, seeds, white meats such as turkey, fish and chicken.

This step is the biggest advance towards crunchless abs, believe it or not.
Lets use the analogy of a car for example.

You want a car that performs well, but you only have an old shell.

You can either spend all your time and money on a high performance motor(endless crunches) , or a standard motor (no working out). But if you get the high performance motor and try to run it on muffin mix, it will not even go, however if you use the standard motor and put high quality gas in it(good quality food), you will be ahead by 10 fold!!

Of course you say, why can’t I have a high performance car and high quality gas.
Yes of course you can!! But taking your goal one step at a time is a must when you are beginning, and if this is the beginning for you, then change you nutrition habits before anything and you will see a world of changes before you even start working out.
